Edward Anne Estate at Bavaria Downs

An Elegant, Winter Wedding Editorial

Winter weddings have always captured my heart — there’s something about the glow of candlelight against stone walls, the hush of falling snow, and the quiet luxury of velvet and fur that feels endlessly romantic.

When I first stepped inside Edward Anne Estate at Bavaria Downs in Chaska, Minnesota, I knew it was the perfect place to bring that vision to life. The French Normandy–inspired architecture, with its grand foyer, sweeping staircase, and custom wrought-iron doors, felt like something out of a storybook. Every space carried that old-world elegance I love — warm, stately, and timeless.

For the invitations, I wanted to capture that same feeling in paper form. I chose a text-based foil design — simple, elegant, and luminous — paired with a green velvet envelope liner that added a touch of richness and texture. A subtle hint of black grounded the suite, creating a palette of hunter green, gold, and black that felt both sophisticated and deeply wintery.

It was my first editorial shoot, and standing in that grand estate surrounded by the details we’d dreamed up, I remember thinking — this is exactly why I love what I do..
