An invitation inspired by generations of Minnesota summers, where history, family tradition and a little bit of lake-life whimsy come together.

01 / Their Vision
For Tiernan and Blake, Lake Miltona is more than a wedding setting. The historic Minnesouri Angling Club has been part of Tiernan’s family for generations—a place of century-old cottages, summer traditions and days spent on the water.
They wanted the invitations to feel much the same: timeless and understated, with an elevated summer sensibility and just enough playfulness to feel like a weekend at the lake.
02 / My interpretation
Throughout the suite, I’ve woven in subtle nods to summers spent on Lake Miltona and the history of the Minnesouri Anglers Club. Every detail is intentional — nothing appears by accident.
The overall feeling is playful yet grown-up, resulting in a suite that feels collected, relaxed, and quietly sophisticated.
A hand-drawn map of Lake Miltona—including the depths and Tiernan's family dock—was blind letterpressed onto the back of the invitation as a quiet surprise.
Antique fishing lures from Tiernan's mother's collection became watercolor charms for the invitations, then reappeared as hand-calligraphed place cards and keepsakes for guests.
Ripples on the water, familiar wooden lake signs and waves inspired subtle lines, tactile wood-grain letterpress and playful die-cut shapes throughout the suite.

03/ Our Design
The finished suite balanced the history of the Club with the joy of summer at the lake—layered with personal references that belonged specifically to Tiernan and Blake.
