Where Letters Are Written

A Regency-Inspired Editorial at de Seversky Mansion | Old Westbury, New York

Some spaces ask you to slow down. De Seversky Mansion — a Gold Coast estate on Long Island's North Shore — is one of them. Dark paneled walls, heavy drapery, candlelight caught in crystal. It is the kind of room where every gesture feels deliberate and every detail carries a little more meaning.

That was the vision Helena Elizabeth Events brought to this editorial: a real-life Jane Austen novel. Not just a love story, but a legacy. Marriage as something layered — romantic and significant and quietly grand. The Regency era as a lens, not a costume.

The invitation suite was designed to belong to that world. Deep ink tones, formal typography, a hand-addressed blue envelope with vintage postage, wax seal, layered papers with real weight in the hand. The kind of stationery that gets tucked into a keepsake box, not recycled with the junk mail.

Westerman Design answered the mood with florals that felt almost theatrical — deep burgundies and jewel tones, cascading greenery, arrangements that spilled onto the toile tablecloth and the wide-planked floor. The result was something cinematic. Intimate and grand at once.

This is the kind of wedding where the paper matters from the very first envelope. Where the invitation isn't just information — it's an introduction to everything that follows.
