SUMMER WEDDING AT LAKE PEPIN, WISCONSIN
A Ralph Lauren-inspired invitation suite for Annalee and Blake’s
Memorial weekend wedding
cLASSIC • ELEGANT • RALPH LAUREN
01 / Their Vision
Annalee was trying to design her own save the dates and getting more frustrated by the day. That’s when Hanna of Hanna Marie Events sent her my way. She didn’t know any stationers in the area and wanted someone local for the wedding. She was picturing a Ralph Lauren wedding: classic and elegant, in shades of green with ivory and a hint of pink. The celebration spanned several days. The wedding was at Woods & Co., and the rest of the weekend was at the family’s lake home.
02 / My interpretation
When I hear Ralph Lauren, I think of florals paired with classic stripes, so that’s where I started. A classic ticket-shaped frame for their duogram tied it all together.
The save the dates came first, featuring the family lake home as sketched by the groom’s mother. On the back, a floral pattern reminded Annalee of a French toile. She wondered if it could carry over into the invitation suite, so it became the envelope liner. That way the save the dates and the invitations feel like one story.
With so much happening over the weekend, guests needed every detail in one easy place.
03/ Our Design
The save the dates. The family lake home, hand-sketched by the groom’s mother, with the toile-inspired floral on the back.
The invitation. Florals and classic stripes, with their duogram set inside a ticket-shaped frame.
The pocket folder. Custom made, embossed, and finished with their monogram.
The details card. A tri-fold card holding the information for every event, so guests had the whole weekend in their hands.
The rehearsal brunch invitation. A pink peony die-cut detail brings in the hint of pink and sets the brunch apart as its own occasion.
The envelope liner. The same floral from the save the dates, carried through to the invitation suite.
The RSVP card. Mail-in only. Annalee wanted her mailbox full of replies.
04 / Their Reactions
When her save the date mockup arrived, Annalee wrote, “Wow! I’m so happy with how these turned out!”
Her Design Edit came next. “You absolutely outdid yourself! My parents and I were in awe last night as we were looking the options over.”
A few rounds of revisions in, she wrote, “I don’t have enough good words to say about working with you! I am not creative at all and I have been in tears multiple times stressing over this wedding stationery, so I can’t thank you enough for making the process so easy and enjoyable! Took a huge weight off my shoulders.”
She loved seeing the work in progress, telling me, “The whole process is SO fascinating.” When the folder was finished, she said, “It’s absolutely perfect!! The colors, the liner, the embossing, the monogram, everything.” Her mom called it an “award-winning invitation.” When I mentioned that postage could go up because of the suite’s size and weight, Annalee replied, “It’s worth it for how spectacular these invites are, I wouldn’t change a thing!”
She was most excited about her mail-in RSVPs. I told her there’s nothing like going to your mailbox every day and seeing it full of beautiful green envelopes. “That’s what I’m so excited for!”
Afterward, I asked her what she enjoyed most. She named two things: opening the big box and seeing the paper in person for the first time, and our Zoom calls. “Getting to chat even though we were doing this from afar made it so personal and lovely!”
